The best lobster we’ve ever had is from Atlantic City, NJ

There’s an old saying that goes “You’re never a hero in your own hometown”.

Former Atlantic City golf legend Leo Fraser, former president of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) of America, has his own take on the misnomer.

Fraser had a memorable saying that “you have to go 60 miles before someone is recognized as an expert. He didn’t believe it. But, many in this field have.

In other words, nothing that is already here at home can be the best.

We dismiss this as blatantly false and shortsighted in all respects.

There are many people, places and things right here in the Atlantic City, New Jersey area that are the best in class you can find anywhere in America.

They were the best lobsters we have ever eaten.

For some reason…see life lesson above…you have to go to Maine or somewhere else to get the most out of it.

Simply not true. These Atlantic City lobsters were sweet, with perfect texture and taste in every way.

When we first wrote about it a year ago, so many people reached out to say they had never heard of “Atlantic City lobsters.”

In 2015, the New Jersey lobster market was $2.2 million per year.

5 pounds is the maximum allowable height/weight (lobster) you can legally keep in New Jersey.

He tasted even better than her sparkling beauty.

It was so smooth and delicious that it didn’t require any pulled butter or other seasonings.

Here’s a great cooking tip from an Atlantic City fisherman over 50:

“Steam for about 15 minutes and don’t let the lobsters touch the water…just let the steam cook them.

The moral of this story is that you don’t have to go to Maine or anywhere else. The best is already here in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

We’ve made it a July tradition and have already placed our order for fresh Atlantic City lobsters.

Atlantic City lobster is as good or better than any you’ll find anywhere in America.
