Chief of Galloway, NJ is Atlantic County Crime Stoppers of the Year

Atlantic County Crime Stoppers, New Jersey President Cyndi Balles has announced that Galloway Township Police Chief (Retired) Donna Higbee is the 2022 “Crime Stoppers of the Year.”

“Chief Higbee has been a supporter and partner of Atlantic County Crime Stoppers throughout his distinguished career, first as a detective and then as a chief supporting the Anonymous Tip Line and its goals. The Galloway Township Police Department has been a partner of Atlantic County Crime Stoppers throughout its existence,” Balles said.

Atlantic County Crime Stoppers is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

This entity is on a mission to provide an effective anonymous method for citizens to report information about suspected criminal activity.

If the information you provide leads to a culprit being arrested and charged…you may be eligible for a cash reward.

to justice. Anonymous tipsters are welcome to provide information and photos through their unique secure web platform,” Balles said.

As an anonymous tipster, you receive a unique code that allows you to track any reward status. The tip line is 609-652-1234 or

Balles also confirmed that Amy Defeo-Barbella, who is California Apartments’ property manager, will receive the “Atlantic County Crime Stoppers Community Partner” award.

Of Defeo-Barbella, Balles said, “Amy is an Atlantic County community champion, supporting a multitude of charities, especially Gilda’s Club and the MBCA. We know that without the support of his employer, Manor Communities, owner of California Apartments, much of this support would not be possible,” Balles said.

Atlantic County Crime Stoppers Foundation, Inc also
established the April Christine Kauffman Fellowship.

This prestigious award is in memory of domestic violence victim April Kauffman.

The Committee is currently accepting nominations for consideration. The committee includes Kauffman’s daughter, Kim Pack, and other community leaders.

Committee members also participate in fundraising efforts and are directly involved in the award selection process.

Atlantic County Crime Stoppers will honor Higbee and Defeo-Barbella at a dinner on November 16, 2022 at the Atlantic City Country Club.

Tickets are $85 per person and are available by calling President Cyndi Balles at 609-432-2524 or online, using Eventbrite.
